When she opened her practice in Staten Island, I knew it would be a long drive for us. Although it takes us 2hrs 45 mins to get there, I don't hesitate in going!! I'm more than willing to travel the distance, that's how good Dr Lena is!!! They are open on Saturday's, which is great! In searching for a dentist for me & my children, I found Hylan Dental Arts: accepted my insurance & had... read moreIn searching for a dentist for me & my children, I found Hylan Dental Arts: accepted my insurance & had a female dentist & female hygienist....my kids are much more comfortable & there is less anxiety.  Hey, if it makes going to the dentist without a struggle...fine with me.   I grew up fearing the dentist, so why not try to make it better for my kids.  🙂

Anyway, we have been there a few times already.  I can only write about who I have experience with so far.  Dr. Yelena Khrapko is fantastic!  And Inna (forgive me, not sure of the spelling), absolutely the sweetest & so wonderful!  They both explain everything that they are doing & answer any and all of our questions.  Both Dr. Khrapko & Inna understand that my kids want to be in the room with me when I am in the chair & all goes well.  

All the ladies at the receptionist desk have been polite & professional.  We even were able to take home a printout of our x-rays!  Never have we been able to do that before.  My children were very happy about that along with getting a toothbrush, toothpaste & floss with their visit.  

There is a significant, but completely understandable wait, and well worth it.  It's nice to know each patient is cared for without a rush.  Let's face it, it's rare when you don't have to wait for any doctor or dentist appointment (unless it's an emergency, but then you wouldn't make an appointment, right?).  🙂

A previous dentist said that I would not be able to get a root canal on my tooth b/c a crown could not fit b/c of spacing.(upper premolar)so referred to a specialist for an extraction.(tooth was cracked) Well I traveled the 2hrs 45 mins from Hartford, Ct to see Dr. Lena.(she use to work in Ct) Once again she did not disappoint. She was able to save my tooth & will be fitting me w/a crown contrary to what the other dentist said.
I find her to be both professional & kind. I have confidence in her ability so that reassures me. I would recommend her 100% especially if you are a nervous patient or if you have been referred to a specialist.(both times I was referred to a specialist she was able to do the procedure w/no problem)
